Description:
Map: Westmoreland. Monochrome map with rich detail including cities, place names and rivers. Mountains and buildings are illustrated. The title is presented in an ornate cherub-decorated cartouche bottom right. Bottom left is a scale marked as: 'Quatuor, Milliaria, Anglica, five unum Milliare Germanicum'. This is decorated with three figures measuring. Top left is a coat of arms. Septentrio, Meridies, Oriens, Occidens (Latin for North, South, East and West) are printed around the edges. Top right are seven shields, two of which are empty. The top shield from which the others hang contains three lions, the others are the arms of: Raphe Nevill, John Duke of Bedford, John Duke of Somerset and John de Foix.
