Description:

Map: County Durham. Monochrome with ornate border, the map is very rich in detail including cities, place names, rivers and mountains. Castles, mountains and significant buildings and features are illustrated by drawings. On the right is a map of Lancaster with a key to significant places. There is a large coat of arms on the left. A framed paragraph describes the history of Durham, and another describes the 'Battle of Neuills Crosse' of 1346. There is a large coat of arms top left and at the bottom the arms of Edmond Croukbak and John of Gaunt. The map features a large compass rose and a scale bar. The inscription at the bottom reads: 'Are to be sold by Henry Overton at the White Horse without Newgate London. '
