View of the main Exhibition room of theJohn Rylands Library. Some of the original wooden panelling has been removed to access the electrical conduits, exposing the brickwork. Windows have been removed for repair and cleaning. Many of the original doors have been removed and stacked for safe-keeping. Construction and restoration work is being undertaken by Linford Building Ltd, successors to the firm who worked on the original Library building in the 1890s.
