Description:
Print 90: Orange trees in Mr Knipe's garden; Print 91: Flats with Casnarina tree from Knipe's house. The photographs are in a collection of photographs of Australia, taken or compiled by William Stanley Jevons during the 1850s. Between 1854-1859 Jevons was employed as assayer at the Sydney mint and also carried out detailed social surveys of the city's slums. Knipe was Registrar and accountant at the Mint.
