Eighteenth-century German “peasant” binding: full parchment over boards; gilt fillet and roll to form a border; geometric interlaced bands forming a central star; painted all over in multiple colours and with many small gilt-tooled fan motifs; marbled paste-downs; spine painted and gilded; all edges gilt; edges gauffered at ends.
