Letter from James Buckley to Hugo Worthington [agent to Lord Stamford], dated 6 December 1830. Describes an attack by a mob on the mill at Stayley occupied by his sons. In the present disturbed state of the district, J.B. feels compelled to offer his services on the Commission of the Peace for Cheshire. He asks H.W. to lay the matter before Lord Stamford.
