Letter to [Arthur Heygate] Mackmurdo [1851-1942, architect and social reformer] stating that Ruskin would be happy to provide any recommendations or testimonials that Mackmurdo requires, though he presumes such things would be mere formalities. In 1882, Mackmurdo founded the Century Guild, an organization of craftsmen involved in metalwork, cabinet-making and fabric and wallpaper design, and this letter could refer to Mackmurdo's preparations for this.
