Description:
Dante Alighieri 'La Commedia' printed by Bonino Bonini with Commentator. This is the first edition to have an extended series of illustrations for the poem. Contains Inf. 5.121 - Inf. 5.142 and Commentator by Cristoforo Landino on Inf. 5. The text of the poem is found on the left hand side of the page, surrounded by the Commentator. There are ink corrections to the printed text. There is a gloss with annotation in the lower margin: 'b. per bocca'. The canto number at top of page is incorrect and has been corrected in ink.
