Quarter-plate daguerreotype. A half-length photographic portrait of a man identified, as Uncle Thomas Leach, which has been produced as a direct positive image on a silver coated copper plate. The photograph is mounted in its original ormolu-mounted black papier-mâché frame with gilt mount with replaced hanging ring.
