Description:
View of the Victoria Buildings, Deansgate, Manchester. A fine five floor stone building, the Deansgate facing side of the building is shown here. Some of the ground floor shop fronts have awnings protruding out over the pavement and pedestrians can be seen milling around the area, most are blurry. An ornate street lamp can be seen in the right hand corner of the print. The Victoria Buildings, occupied a triangular plot in the city, with sides on Deansgate, Victoria Street and St Mary's Gate. The buildings housed shops and also the Victoria Hotel. All were destroyed in the Manchester Blitz of the 1940's.
