Judaeo-Arabic translation of Ruth (Sharh). Plain paper, on which lines have been ruled in hand, in a lighter shade of pen. Modern handwriting. Each page is entitled: "Rut bil-'arabi" (Ruth in Arabic). Ar. 399-1 begins with chapter two of the scroll, and Ar. 399-4 ends in verse 16 of the same chapter. Each verse is enumerated at its end with Arabic numerals in brackets, following a decoration of dots arranged in a diamond-like shape.
