Arabic document of what happened on Wednesday, 27 of Rajab 1256 (= Thursday, 24 September 1840 CE). The rent al-mu'allim Ya'qub Balul al-Yahudi the tailor has to pay al-mu'allim Shu'a (?) ibn al-mu'allim Ibrahim al-Yahudi? The sum mentioned is 122 Rumi qirsh (piaster), for every qirsh 40 half silver (nisf fida) should be paid. Y'aqub Balul should pay this sum of money 4 qirsh every Friday. If he fails to do so, he would have to pay the entire sum. 3 witnesses are signed on this contract.
