|
Frontispiece marking the commencement of the third division of the psalter (the psalter is divided into three fifties). The folio is occupied by the title to Psalm one hundred and one, 'Domine exaudi oratione meam et clamor meus ad te veniat'. Occupying three quarters of the page is a zoomorphic initial 'D' filled with panels of interlace, rosettes, lozenges and stylised foliage. The 'N' and 'E' of 'Domine' are elided and filled with interlace; the 'N' is zoomorphic. The remainder of the title is in red uncials, coloured capitals and black capitals infilled with colour. The elements of the colour scheme are red, purple, black, blue, green and yellow.
