Description:
Vellum roll on mounted cloth. The subject is the Tree of Salvation, and the sequence runs from the bottom to the top of the tree. (38) In the central stem of the tree is (Eli)achim holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: the Job restored: his brings gifts; Christ appears to three women. On the right of the central stem are two medallions depicting Christ appearing to Peter: Judas hangs on a tree; and the butler gives Pharaoh the cup; and the Baker on a cross eaten by birds. (39) The figure is missing. To the left of the central stem are two medallions, which have been damaged: Ahimelech gives the shrewbread to David; and the supper at Emmaus. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: the Incredulity of Thomas, and Joseph embraced by Benjamin. (40) In the central stem of the tree is Eleazar holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: the sons of the prophets adore Elisha and Christ appears in Galilee. On the right of the central stem are two medallions depicting The Ascension, and Elijah translated. (41) In the central stem of the tree is Mathan holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: Jacob blesses Ephraim and Manasseh, and the election of Matthias: he kneels with Barsabas. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: Pentecost, and the giving of the Law.
