Description:

4 Kings 1 : 1 - 8 ' & gird with a girdil of skyn in the reines '. A title 'ffouthe book' appear in the top margin in red ink, and the rubric ' here bigynneth the .iiij. book of kingis the firste chapitre' appears in red ink at the head of the first column, with a small red ink human grotesque on the first letter. A heavily embellished foliate and floral letter ' F ' in red and blue ink with gold illumination introduces the first chapter. Red, green and blue ink foliate and floral decorations with gold illuminations appear in all margins and between the columns. One of the illuminated decorations in the bottom margin appears to have been excised, and a repair has been made on the recto. The written space is 160 x 108 mm. There are two columns of text, each having 24 lines.
