The words ' Edward 3 ' appear in the top margin. 'Cap. CCxxv' is written in red pencil in the left margin. '1337' is also written in the left margin. The tale of severe winter floods throughout England. In the 11th year of Edward III's reign, a star is seen, and a time of plenty follows. Red rubrication introduces the tale of how King Edward makes Cornwall a duchy. A space is left for an illuminated initial ' I ', which is omitted. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

and sprynges þ(t) þe see brynkes walles & costes broken vp men bestes & houses in many places & namely in lowe cu(~)trees violently & sodenly weryn drynkelled and dryuen a way and fruytes of þe erth thurgh continuaunce habundans of waters of þe see eu(er)more afterward were turned in to more saltensse and sourenes of sauour. // The .x. ȝeer of kyng Edewardes regne kyng Edeward entyrd þe Scottysshe see after mydsom(er)e and to many of þe Scottys he ȝaf batayll and our come hem and many be tretyd & bowed vn to hys pees thurgh hys dough- tynes and after Mighelmesse þan next folowyng was þe Erle of Moryf ytake atte Edenburgh & broght into England & put into p(ri)son. // And in the monethes of Juyn & Juyll than next folowyng in þe .xiȝeer of hys regne was seyne and apperyd in the firmament a bemed sterre the wych clerkes called stella Comata and þ(t) sterre was seyn in diu(er)s p(ar)ties of þe firmament wherafter a non þ(er) folowed in England good chepe and wondyr grete plente of all chaffare and vitayll and marchandise and þ(er) a ȝens houge scarcyte meschef and nede of money Jn so mych þ(t) a quarter of whete at London was sold for ij. s & a good fatt oxe att a nobyll & v. good dovne bryddes for a peny in whyche ȝeer on holy roode evene deyd Syr John of heltam Erle of Cornewayle kyng / Ede wardes brother and lyth atte Westemestre. How kyng Ede ward made a duchye of the Erledom of Cornewaile & also of six oþ(er)e Erles þ(t) were new made & of þe ferst chalan- gyng of þe kyngdome of Fraunce. Capitulo duce(~)tesmo .xx.
