sayne on Sante Margaretes day and þan the kynge ordeynede Syr Edeward Bayllol with other noble and worthy men to be kepers and gou(er)nous of Scotteland in hys absens and hym selfe turned agayne and com jnto Englond after thys victory w(t) mekyll joy and worship // And in the next ȝee sewyng þ(t) is for to say the ȝee of our lord a M(l) CCC. & xxxii. And of kyng Edeward sen he went aȝeen in to Scottelande in the wynter tyme att whych viage þe castell of Kylbrygge in Scotland for hym and hys men that w(t) hym comen he recou(er)ed & had agayne þ(e) scottes all at hys hawne luste and in that same ȝeer Syr Edewarde Bayllol kyng of Scot- land held hys pa(ar)lement in Scoteland w(t) many noble lordes of Enland that were at same p(ar)lement for encheson of her landes & lordschipes þ(t) þen had in þe reinne of Scotland and halden of þe same Bayllol. //And in viij. ȝeer of regnyng about þe feest of Saynt John Baptist Syr Edeward Bayllol the verrey and trew kynge of Scoteland as by herytage and ryght lyue made hys homage & feute vn to kyng Edewad of England for the reinne of Scotland att þe new Castell vp tyne in p(re)sence of many worthy lordes and also of comeners of both reinnes and a non after in þe same ȝeer kyng Edeward of Englond retayned of þe duke of Brytayne hys homage for þe erldome and lordship of Richemonde // And so folowyng in the ix. ȝeer of his regnyng after Michaelmes kyng Edeward rood into Scotland and ther was fast be Saynt Johns toun almost al the wynter tyme and he held hys crysten- messe atte þe Castell of Rokesburgh and in the same ȝeer þurgh out all England about Seynt Clementys tyde in wynter ther aroos such a spryngyng and wellyng vp of wateris & flodys both of þe see & also of þe fersshe ryuers
