and feaute for hir landeȝ and ȝolden ham vnto his pees and helden him for hire lorde and he vnd(er)fenge of ham his homageȝ and g(ra)untede ha(~) his pees. and fro þennes he wen- te to þe Abbay of Stone and þere he was crouned king of Scotlande and after he lete c(ri)e his pees þorugh out þ(e) lande //And at þ(e) same time it fel þ(t) king Edward of Engelonde helde his p(ar)leme(~)t among his lieges at newe castel Tyne for to ame(~)de þ(e) t(re)spas an þe wrong(es) þ(t) had ben done in his lande and S(ir) Edward þ(e) Baillol king of Scotlande come to him þider and dede to him feaute & homage for the reame of Scotlande // And in þis man(er)e king Edwarde of Engelond gadrede aȝen þ(e) homageȝ and þ(e) feauteȝ of Scotlande wher of he was pult out þorugh counceil & assent of Dame .Is(abel). his mooder and of S(ire) Rog(er) þ(e) Mortim(er) erl of þ(e) March // þo toke S(ir) Edward Baillol king of Scotland his leue of king Edward of Engelonde and wente þennes in to his owene lande of Scotlande and sette but litel by ham þ(t) had coun- celed him and holpen him in his querell. wherfore þey wente fro him and wente & leuede by here landes and ren- tes in Scotlande // And so it fel aftirwarde nouȝt longe þ(t) þe king of Scotlande ne remuede and come to þe toun of Anan de and þ(er)e nome his duellyng and þider come to him a co(~)- panye of knyȝteȝ stronge men and worþy and ȝolden ham vnto þe king and bere ham so faire in dede and in conti- naunce so þ(t) he truste muche vppon ham and anon as þ(e) traitours sav þat he truste muche vppon ham: þey ordey nede amonges ham vifty in o. cu(~)panye and wolde haue quelde hire king but þorugh þ(e) grace of almyghty god he brak þorugh a wal an hool in his chambre and as god wolde scapede hir tretourie and alle his men were q(ue)lde and he ascapede w(t) muche drede to þe toun of Cardoille. and þ(er)e helde him sore annoyede and þis bifel in oure la- dyes eue concepcioun // þo sente king Edwarde Baillol to king Edward of Engelonde how falsliche ant t(ra)ytrously
