There is a tear in the vellum in the left right margin which appears to have been stitched and come apart again. The words 'Edward 2' are written in the top margin. The tale of how Merlyn's prophecies about King Edward II, Thomas of Lancaster and the Spencers were true. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

after he gat aȝen þat he had lost and muche more þorgh folc þat he lete assemble out of þe Northwest þ(t) made him to ben drad and avengede him of his barouns þorugh coun- ceil of S(ir) Hughe þe Spens(er) þe fader and of S(ir) Hughe his sone þat biforen were outlawede of Engelonde for hir wicked- nesse // But aftirward come aȝen in to Engelonde S(ir) Hugh Spenser þe fader out of ff(ra)unce and so muche councelede þe king þ(t) he shulde werre oppon Thom(a)s erl of lancastre so þ(t) þe king and þe Spensers and þe erl of Arundel and hir(e) poer mette w(t) Thom(a)s of lancastr(e) at Burtou(~) op Trent and him þ(er)e descomfitede and S(ir) Hunfray erl of Hereforde was in his companye: and after fledden þe forsaide Tho- m(a)s and Hunfray w(t) hire companye at Burbrigge w(t) S(ire) Andrew of Hercla þat is called þe vnkynde out pultere & also S(ire) Symund Warde erl of york þey come and mette w(t) Thom(a)s of Lancastr(e) w(t) an huge co(~)pany and ham þ(er) desco(~)- fitede and in þat scomfiture þe erl of Herforde was slayn vppon þe brugg(e) cowardely w(t) a spere in þe foundement. and þe erl Thom(a)s was taken and lad vnto Pounfret and þ(er)e he was biheded bisides his owene Castel But aft(er)ward many man him soughte for miracules þ(t) god dede for him // And in þ(t) time M(er)lyn saide for sorwe & harme a peple of his lande wherfore menye landes shul- de ben oppon him þe boldere and he saide soth. for by en- chesoun of his barouns þ(t) were don to þe deth for sent Thom(a)s querell of lancastr(e): peple of manye landes bico men þe boldere for to meue werre vppon þe king for hir(e) blood was turned to menye naciouns // And aftirward Merlyn tolde and saide þ(t) þe forsaide oweles shulde do muche harme vnto þe flo(ur) of lif and of deth and þey shulde bringe hire vnto muche dissese so þat she shulde wende ouer see in to ff(ra)unce for to make pees to þe flour delice. and þ(er)e she shulde abide til on a tyme that hire seed shulde come and seche hire and þ(er)e þey shulde
