There is a tear in the vellum in the top right margin which appears to have been stitched and come apart again. Pricking is clearly visible in the right margin. The words 'Edward 2' are written in the top margin. The tale of how Merlyn's prophecies about King Edward II and St Thomas of Lancaster were true. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

soth. for by þe brennynge of þe bere is bitokened gret drede þorugh cottinge of swerde at þ(t) bataile ordeined in a felde as a sheelde vppon an arme of þ(e) see: is bitokened þ(e) batale of Mitou(~) for þ(er)e come þ(e) scottis in manere of a whinge and quelde vppon. swale men of religiou(~) p(ri)stes and seculers wher- fore þ(e) scottis callede þ(t) bataile in despit of english me(~). þe white bataile // And aft(er) M(er)lyn saide þat þe forsaide bere shulde done þe .goot. muche harme. and þ(t) shulde ben vppon þe soutwest and also vppon his blod. and saide also þ(t) þe Goot. shulde lese muche del of his lande til þe time þ(t) shame shulde him ou(er)come and þanne he shulde cloþen him w(t) a leouns skyn. and shulde wynne aȝen þ(t) he had lost and muche more þorugh a peple þ(t) shulde come out of þ(e) North West þ(t) shulde make him ben drad and him avenge of his enemys þorugh conceil of .ij. owles þ(t) ferst shulde ben in p(er)ile to ben vndone and þ(t) þo .ij. owles shulde wende ou(er) þe see in to a st(ra)unge lande and þ(er)e þey shulde duelle til a certein time. and after þey shulde come in to Englond aȝen: and .ij. owles shulde don muche harm vnto meny on and þ(t) þey shulde counceile þe Goot for to meve werre a- ȝens þe forsaide .bere. and þ(t) þe Goot & þe.
