and doth as ȝow good likeþ and y wil pulte me vnto þ(e) m(er)cy & grace of god. and so wente þe false traito(ur) S(ir) Andrew of Her- kela in his wey as a fals traitour a tyraunt and as a fals forsworn man: for þorugh þe noble erl Thom(a)s of Lancastr(e) he vnderfeng þe armes of Chiualrie and þorugh hi(~) he w(a)s mad a knyght // þo myghte men sen Archiers drawen ham in þ(t) o. syde and. in that oþ(er)e and knyghtes also and foughten to ge- dere wonder sore and also among oþ(er)e S(ir) Himfray de Broughon erl of Herforde a worþy knyȝt of renou(~) þorugh out al c(ri)sten- dome stoode and faught with his enemys oppon þe Brugg(e) and as þe noble lorde stoode and faught vppon þe Brugg(e): a þeef a ribaude scolkede vnder þe brugg(e) and fersly w(t) a spere smote þe noble knyȝt in to þe foundeme(~)t so þat his bowayles comen out þere: allas þe sorwe for þ(er)e was slayn þe flour of solace and of comfort and also of curtesie and S(ire) Rog(er) of Clifforde a noble knyȝt stoode eu(er)e and faught wel and nobely him defendede as a worthy baroun: but at þe laste he was sore wounded in his heuede. and S(ir) Will(ia)m of Sullay and S(ir) Rog(er) of Bernefelde. were slayne at þat ba tayle // Whenne S(ir) Andrev of Herkela saugh þat S(ir) Thomas men of.
