The words ' Edward 2 ' are written in the top margin. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' H ' introduce the tale of the siege of Leeds castle, more quarrelling with the Lords of England, and of the outlawing of Thomas of Lancaster and others who rebelled against the King. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' W ' introduce the tale of the siege of Tickhill castle. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

How þe king exilede Erl Thom(a)s of Lancastr(e) and alle þat helde w(t) him and how þ(e) Mortim(er) come & ȝelde hi(~) vnto [...] þ(e) king & of þ(e) lord(es) sege Ca(o) C(mo). iiij(xx). xv(mo). HJt was nouȝt longe after þat þe king [...] ne made S(ir) Hughe þe Spenser þe fader and S(ir) Hugh þe sone come aȝen in to Engelond aȝens þe lordes wille of þe reaume // And sone aftir þe king with a strong poer come and bisegede þe Castell of Leedes. and in þat castel was þe lady of Baldelesmer(e). for enchesoun þat she wol- de nought g(ra)unte þe castel to þe Quene Isabell. king Ed- wardes wif // But þ(e) p(ri)ncipal cause was for enchesoun þ(t) S(ire) Bartholomev Badelesmere was aȝens þe king and helde w(t) þe lordes of Engelonde and noþeles þe king by helpe and socour of me(~) of Londou(~) and also þorugh helpe & socour of Southerne men. þe king gat þe castel maugre ham alle þat were þ(er)inne and nome w(t) him al þ(t) he myghte fynde // And whenne þe barouns of Engelonde herde of þis þing. S(ire) Rog(er) Mortimer and S(ire) Rog(er) Mortim(er) and oþ(er)e manye lorde(s). nome and toke þe toun of Briggeworth with strengthe. Wherfore þe king was wonder wroth and lete outlawe. Tho- mas erl of Lancastr(e). and Hunfray de Bohoun. erl of Herford and alle þo þ(t) were assentaunt to þe same quarel // And þe king assemblede an huge host and come aȝens þ(e) lordes of Engelond wherfore þe Mortimer(s) pulte ham to þe kinges mercy and his grace and anon þey were sente to þ(e) tour of Londou(~) and þ(er)e kepte in p(ri)soun.// And whanne þe Barou(~)s herde of þis þing þey comen to Pountfret þ(er)e þ(t) Erl Thom(a)s soiournede and tolde him how þe Mortym(er)s boþe had ȝelde ham vnto þe king and pulte ham in his g(ra)ce Of þe se se- [...] ge of Tikhille Cap(o). Whanne Thom(a)s Erl [...] of Lancastr(e) herde þis: þey were wonder wroth and alle þat were in his companye and gretely þey were descom fortede and ordeynede hire poer to gider and bisegede þ(e) cas tell of Tikhill. but þo þat were wiþinne so manliche ham defendede þat þe Barouns mighte nouȝt gete þe castelle. //
