Description:
The word 'John' is written in the top margin of the folio. The tale of how King John is required to compensate financially for his misdeeds. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'W' introduce the tale of how the interdict might not be undone until King John pays back Juliane, King Richard's wife, the lands that he owes her. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

þe masse and þe king offrede at þe masse a marc of golde // And whanne þe masse was done alle þey wente for to vnder- fonge alle hire landes wiþoute ony manere gayne saynge and þat day þey made alle merthe and ioye ynow. but ȝit was nought þe enterdite relessede: for enchesoun had sente þat þe enterditinge shulde nought ben vndone til þe king had made ful restitucioun of þe goodes þat he had take of holy chirche. and also þat him self shulde done homage to þe pope by a certayn legat þat he shulde sende in to Engelond // þo nome Pandolf his leue fro þe king & of þe Erchebisshop and wen- te aȝen vnto Rome and þe Erchebisshop anon lete come by- forne him p(re)lates of holy cherche at Redinge for to trete and counsaile how muche and what þey shulde axe of þe king for to make restitucioun of þe goodes þat he had take of ham // And þey ordeignede and saide þ(t) þe king shulde ȝeue to þe erchebisshop. iij. þousand marc for þe wrong(es) þat þe king had don vn to him and also to oþ(er)e clerkes. by porciouns. xv. þousand marc.
