Description:
The story of how Leir (Lear) was made King again with the aid of his daughter Cordeill (Cordelia). Then follows the tale of how Cordeill was overthrown by her nephews Morgan and Conenedag after the death of Leir. The next tale is the story of Rynallo, Conenedag's son. Each tale is introduced by red rubrication and an illuminated initial. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

fader for to conquere þe lande aȝene and his kingdome and Cordeill also come wiþ hire fader in to Britaigne for to haue þe reaume after hir fadres deþ and anon þey wente to shipp and passede þe see and come in to Britaigne and foughten wiþ þe felouns and ham scomfitede and quelde and Leir þo had his land aȝen and after leuede . iij . ȝere and held his reame in pees and afterward deide . and Cordeill his dought(er) him lete entere with muchil hono(ur) at Leicestre How Morgan and Conedage þat were Neueus to Cordeill werrede vppon hire and pulte hire in to prisoun . Captiulo .xiiijo. : - Whanne þat king Leir was ded Cordeill his ȝongest dough- ter helde and hadde þe lande . v. ȝere and in þe mene tyme deide hir lord agamp . þat was king of ff(ra)unce and after his deþ she lefte widue // And þo come Morgan and Conedage þat were Cordeill sustres sones and to hire hadde enuye for as muche as hir aunt shulde haue þe lande so þat bituen ham þey ordeyned a gret poer and oppon hir werre- de gretliche and neu(er) þey reste til þat þey had hir taken and pult hir vnto deþ // And þo Morgam and Conedage seisede al þe land and dep(ar)tede it bituene ham and þey helde it xij . ȝer // And whanne þo xij ȝere were gone . þere bigan bi- tuene ham a gret debate so þat þey werrede st(ro)ngly yfere & euerich of ham dede oþ(er) muche disese . ffor Morgan wolde haue had al þe land fro byȝonde Humber þat Conedage helde. but he come aȝens him with a st(ro)ng poer so þat Morgan dorste nought abide but fley a way in to Walys and Conedage þur- suede him and toke him and queld him . // þo come Coneda- ge aȝein and seisede al þe lande in to his hande and helde it and regnede after xxxiij . ȝer and þo deide and lith at ne we Troye How Raynolde þat was Conedages sone regned after his fader and in his tyme it raynede blood . iij . daies [ . . ]in tokenyng of gret deth . Capo xvmo . And after þis [...] Conedage regnede Raynold his sone a wys knight & and hardy and curteis þat wel and nobly gouernede þe lande
